Enrique's Journey

On January 4th I posted an entry about the books we were considering for our common book program at George Fox University. The decision by the committee was to use "Enrique's Journey" as this year's book.

In this astonishing true story, award-winning journalist Sonia Nazario recounts the unforgettable odyssey of a Honduran boy who braves unimaginable hardship and peril to reach his mother in the United States.

Our hope is that this book will generate meaningful discourse about immigration. The issue of immigration will continue to be important as we approach a presidential election, as well as a desire by both parties to court the Latino vote.
